Anna Ives
After completing her Music Degree, Anna sang in clubs around Melbourne with various cover bands before fronting her own Jazz/Funk band “Honeychild”.
After this she traveled to New York where she sang with soul and jazz bands during the next five years. She also had the opportunity to work as a solo piano vocalist at International Hotels in Japan and Germany returning to NYC in between to record her own material and do some session singing on other albums.
She has also worked with an Improv Theatre group in NYC doing Corporate Events, and acted in a few Independent films.
Anna has taught singing and piano for a number of years, in various colleges in Melbourne, and has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast, where she is teaching voice and piano at her home studio.
She is at home behind the piano in a small bar having a sing along with the locals, as she is fronting a big band at a large venue. Her soulful sound lends itself to pop/r and b/jazz tunes but has been known to cut loose for the rock classics!!
